DCC Partners Conduct Site Mapping at Bassin Bleu for Irrigation System

Given travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, in January 2021 using equipment personally donated by Tiago Forin, members of ODBJ and a DCC representative in Jacmel successfully conducted site mapping of the third of three pathways for the irrigation system at Bassin Bleu, Jacmel.

In 2021, in collaboration with our partner organization the Organizacion pour le Development de Bassin Bleu, Jacmel (ODBJ) mapping of the last of three paths for our irrigation project in Bassin Bleu was completed. Then colleagues in the Department of Civil Engineering at Rowan University with engineering students used the collected data to complete the feasibility study of this last branch of the irrigation system. This year, the project has moved from the conceptual phase into prototyping. We hope to be able to implement the first and most needed branch of the system this coming year with the use of a grant from the Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia (HPP).
