DCC Raises Over $3,000.00 to Fund the Dyaspora-Haiti Scholarship

With the generous donations of countless initial funders, DCC launched the Dyaspora-Haiti Scholarship fund in the fall of 2017.

During a trip to Jacmel, Haiti in August of 2017, the founding chair of DCC, was approached by a young woman in high school with a request for financial assistance so that she may continue her schooling.

Many thanks to our continued supporters for their generous donations, which make the Dyaspora-Haiti Scholarship Fund possible.

Having raised enough funds during the 2018-2019 school year to double our scholars, for the 2019-2020 school year, four students out of 12 applicants were selected to receive funding for their tuition and a book stipend. The kind donations of friends and colleagues at the end of 2019 helped us increase the fund to $3,000, which allowed us to add two more scholars to our 2020-2021 roster.
