The year 2020 began with great excitement and plans to capitalize on seed funding in the form of a grant from Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia (HPP). We were set to move forward with work on the irrigation project in coordination with Rowan's Civil Engineering Global Competencies Engineering course.
DCC Pivots and Launches Covid-19 Relief Fund
Instead of traveling to Jacmel in March 2020, DCC launched a COVID-19 relief fund that supported 43 Bassin Bleu families.

DCC's Founding Chair was slated to travel to Haiti in March 2020 to conduct site mapping of the last of three strands of the Bassin Bleu irrigation project, but this trip was postponed until July and ultimately canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Undeterred to help the community of Bassin Bleu, DCC launched the Covid-19 Food Relief Fund which raised $975. These monies allowed DCC and its partners on the ground in Jacmel to provide 43 of Bassin Blue's neediest families with food provisions for the month of July.
